Hey Everybody,
French Quarter Cafe's Battle Of The Songwriters!
For three Wednesdays this August (13th, 20th, 27th), the French Quarter
Cafe will be hosting a "Battle Of The Songwriters", an open mic style
competition where songwriters perform two songs each in hopes of winning a
$50 cash prize. Sign-ups will begin at 6:00pm sharp and will be limited to
the first 20 people. The artist's names will then be put into a hat and
drawn at random and then called to the stage to perform two original songs.
To keep things fair there will be solo acts only (unless it is a duo in
which one person sings and the other plays an instrument). Voting tickets
will be given out for each alcoholic beverage sold. Write the name of your
favorite artist on the back of the ticket and put it in the jar. After the
last performance, the tickets will be tallied and whoever has the most
votes takes home the $50 cash prize and a guaranteed spot the following
week.
